Learn how to prepare for the future as dementia progresses

Wednesday 4th March

Researchers from Newcastle University are again running their free, Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) which aims to help carers of people with dementia to feel better informed and supported towards end of life.

Dementia Care: Living Well as Dementia Progresses is an award winning course helping carers to understand dementia as it progresses and how to seek support.

Over the three week interactive course, a range of topics are covered, including:

  • Week 1 understanding dementia as a progressive illness and planning for future changes (including decision making).
  • Week 2 recognising and responding to the changing cognitive, emotional and physical needs of people with dementia, and how to ensure comfort as dementia progresses.
  • Week 3 carers understanding their own needs; including how to deal with difficult emotions and how to feel better supported.

Dementia Care: Living Well as Dementia Progresses is available for sign up now.
