Practical support

No one person can do it all. Caring is hard work, both physically and emotionally. Some people find it easier than others to ask for help or to take up offers of support.

There are practical things that can be put in place to try and make your caring role easier, such as making changes within, or to your home, or assistive technology. We look at the practical support and how to access such support.

Jointly is an innovative mobile and online app designed to support carers. It's been developed by Carers UK and helps carers to keep all those who help to look after someone, informed about their care. Newcastle City Council is offering Jointly free to carers in Newcastle with the voucher code "NCC4874". Download the "Jointly Information Sheet" from the "Download Now" button for more information and join Jointly here.

Our Practical Support section covers the different types of support available to carers and details of the organisations who provide this support.

There are 4 sections to visit:

Visit each section to gain information and more details of organisations that can help you.
