Good luck to our 2019 Great North Runners.
We have a small team of runners completing the greatest half marathon in the world, taking place on Sunday 8th September 2019, to raise vital funds to support local carers. If you'd like to support them you can sponsor them here.
Although all our charity places have gone any runners who got a place in the ballot, or are taking part in other races, and would like to support local carers are very welcome to get in touch and we'll supply you with fundraising information and support.
Why run for Newcastle Carers?
If you've got a place in the Great North Run, or any other event, and would like to support us as you go please get in touch.
Anyone can become a carer. Sometimes it’s overnight, through sudden illness or injury, or it can be a gradual process and someone’s health deteriorates. It can be a lifetime commitment. There are approximately 26,000 carers in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Taking on a caring role can lead to feelings of isolation and frustration, and result in depression or ill health. Many carers do not seek help until they’re at breaking point. The sponsorship money you raise can help reach isolated carers sooner.
Carers deserve dedicated support services throughout their caring journey. You can ensure they have access to specialist local knowledge, information and advice.
Newcastle Carers is a small independent charity providing local carers of all ages with information, advice and support to improve the quality of their lives. Every penny you raise will be spent locally, enabling us to reach and support more carers.
