Join us for cake and celebrations and find out about volunteering in our City
Volunteer Centre Newcastle opened in 2005 and over the last 10 years an astonishing 24,000 people have got in touch about volunteering - each with their own reasons, ranging from gaining new skills to meeting new people.
Volunteers form the backbone of our community; some groups would not be able to continue without them. Volunteer Centre Newcastle recognises and honours the value of volunteers throughout the year, but during National Volunteers' Week (1st–7th June) they try to do a little bit more.
This year voluntary-involving organisations across Newcastle, including Newcastle Carers, are joining forces to hold a summer fair. The event will welcome the public, charities and groups who are recruiting, and everyone who wants to celebrate with tea and cake, good chat and good company.
There will be information stalls and a showcase of work from volunteering projects so if you are involved in volunteering or are considering becoming a volunteer, come along to celebrate and find out more about the opportunities available to you.
The fair will take place at Broadacre House on Saturday June 20th, 12–5pm. Follow it on Twitter @getinvolvedncl or for further details contact Karen at the Volunteer Centre to join the mailing list: firstname.lastname@example.org.
