Carers Centre Newcastle is a specialist resource for organisations, agencies and groups in Newcastle who provide services and support to carers or who have an interest in carers and carers issues.
We offer advice, information and support to help others develop and implement carer-sensitive policies and practices, and high-quality services for carers.
We do this in the following ways:
Partnership Working
We work in partnership with others to raise awareness of carers and help develop practices and policies that will benefit carers in Newcastle.Carer-awareness presentations
We provide a programme of carer-awareness presentations to health and social care staff and students throughout the year.

This network links together people organisations, agencies and groups who have an affinity for carers and carers issues, for the purpose of collaboration and to improve the quality and range of services for carers in Newcastle. Membership is free. Network members receive information about national and local issues concerning carers, including the Carers Newsletter and our current awareness bulletin, "In the Know".

We can provide organisations with a free package to set up their own information board for carers. This includes plans, board materials and a quarterly updating service. Organisations must provide their own noticeboard and a contact person who will be responsible for maintaining the board.

We also provide information to students, by appointment, who are pursuing a course of study that includes a focus on carers; and provide regular short-term study placements for local work students.
